About the Designer

Lisa-Crop_cleanI’m Lisa Vergeer and I’m a lover of great design. From architecturally show-stopping homes to well-tailored suits, from compelling art to gorgeously plated dinners, I appreciate all things beautiful.

Growing up on a farm in Ontario, Canada, beauty was all around. From my earliest memories, living in an uplifting space was important to me. As a child, I insisted on a rainbow wallpaper border in my bedroom, as a college student I lost my rental deposit after painting my walls a gorgeous shade of deep blue.

Finally, after 12 years as a sales executive, I decided to pursue my love for beautiful spaces and founded Azul Interiors. While my appreciation for interior design is wide-ranging; from mid-century modern to French country, from city chic to gastropub industrial, my design aesthetic tends towards what I’ve termed “warm contemporary”. I find design inspiration everywhere I look –the splendid and varied homes in Southern California, the latest fashion runway collections, books, magazines, travel, and of course – the internet!

Bringing eye pleasing designs to the world is my passion. Design should be fun, and when you work with a good designer, it should also be easy! I would love to work with you to bring your vision to life.

Lisa has attended UCLA’s Interior Design Program and is a member of the American Society of Interior Designers (ASID). She holds a Bachelor of Arts from Wilfrid Laurier University and currently resides in Sherman Oaks with her husband and 2 small children.
